Knowledge creation dynamics of technological forecasting and social change special issues

Technological Forecasting and Social Change (TFSC) is a leading peer-reviewed journal that addresses issues at the intersection of technology society. A major strategy to actively solicit publish Special Issues (SIs). These SIs were first launched in 1979 highlight manuscripts from “hot” emerging discipline. This paper aims analyze it's impact on TFSC as compared Regular (RIs). Using bibliometric analysis, this study establishes have higher field than RIs when evaluated based average citations per manuscript, percentage ‘hot’ papers, rate annum. The then identifies actors (authors, affiliated institutions, countries) journals (knowledge inflow/outflow) contributed success TFSC-SIs. Finally, using bibliographic coupling, seven thematic clusters TFSC's identified. with knowledge developed by Singh et al. (2020) for entirety journals, four unique identified i.e. (Climate & Energy, Entrepreneurship Innovation, Sustainability and, Media Internet Things). It observed these SI received disproportionate attention during last decade are likely influence future trajectory journal.
